The Hateful Eight trailer looks like the perfect mix between Reservoir Dogs and Django Unchained
What do you get if you cross the claustrophobic setting and tense paranoia of Reservoir Dogs with the badass Western theme of Django Unchained? Quentin Tarantino’s latest film, The Hateful Eight.
Taking place after the Civil War, the trailer showcases the talents of Tarantino favourite Samuel L. Jackson as The Bounty Hunter, hitching a ride with Kurt Russell’s moustachioed Hangman, who happens to be handcuffed to Jennifer Jason Leigh’s The Prisoner. From there, the three ride until they find shelter from a blizzard. In the shelter, they find the rest of the film’s ensemble cast: Bruce Dern, Walton Goggins, Demian Bichir, Tim Roth, and Michael Madsen. With plenty of gunfights, bloodshed, and typically quippy dialogue, The Hateful Eight might be second only to Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens as the year’s most hyped up, anticipated movie.
Quentin Tarantino is currently on a roll; both Inglourious Basterds and Django Unchained were hugely commercially successful, and massive award winners. Can The Hateful Eight make it three for three? You’ll have to wait until Christmas Day (or Januaryif you’re not from the USA) to find out.
